The Degere Special Taper

The Degere Special is a medium action 2-weight taper designed for the delicate end of fly fishing. At 6 feet, it loads fully at short range. The flex runs smoothly through the blank, which means a slow, controlled stroke drops a dry fly on the surface without disturbance. It's a rod that rewards a light hand and punishes a heavy one - which is exactly the point on the kind of water it was built for.

This is not a rod for big rivers or long casts. It's a rod that makes 20-foot casts feel like the most satisfying thing you've done all season.

The fittings: Traditional cigar grip and slide band reel seat - the classic small-stream configuration. Red agate stripping guide. Hard chrome guides wrapped in deep burgundy thread with a narrow black tip.
