If you like it, keep it and we’ll charge your card. Don’t like it? Ship it back to us for free.

Browse our rods and put one in your shopping cart. At checkout, use code TRYIT. We’ll ship the rod out–then you can take it for a spin, get second opinions, and see if it feels right for you.


Like it? Keep it.

Settled on a good rod? If it’s the rod you’d like, you do nothing. We’ll run the card transaction once you have had it for over 10-days.


Don’t like it? Return it.

If it’s not what you want, no problem. Returning your trial rod is easy. Just put it back in the shipping box and email us. We will send you a prepaid return label. Apply the label and drop the package off at the post office (or have your postman pick it up). Your credit card will not be charged. It’s that simple.


So try a rod right now. There’s no reason to wait.

The Fine Print: Details of the Try at Home Rod Program. 

Pick out a rod from our selection of Field Grade or Deluxe Series rods to test out at home with our easy–and free–Home Trial program. You’ve got ten days to take them for a spin and decide if it suits you, then keep or return. Shipping is free both ways. And if you’re having trouble deciding on a rod, you can keep trying out different rods ’til you find one that suits you. You can also give us a call at 866.432.3928. Please note that we are only able to ship Home Trial orders within the U.S.

I thought the Home Trial program was free–why do you need my credit card?

The Home Trial program is absolutely free. During the checkout process, you will be asked to provide a valid credit or debit card to complete your order. We require your credit or debit card information for security purposes, but rest assured that the Home Trial program is a totally free ten-day trial. At time of order, the credit card runs an authorization, but does not charge the card. We will run a manual charge transaction once you have decided to purchase. We will not charge your card unless we hear from you otherwise.

If you do not return your Home Trial rod, or if the returned rod is damaged, we will need to charge the card on file the full price of the rod. The charge is $400.00 for a Field Grade rod and $550.00 for a Deluxe Series rod (this offer is not available for blanks). This is our full retail price. In order to avoid this charge, you must email us back before you have the rod in your possession for more than 10 days. (We’ll send you an email reminder so you don’t forget.) If your Home Trial period ends on a weekend or holiday, just email us on the next business day. If you need an extra day or two, no problem–just call or email us and we’ll work something out.

I ordered another Home Trial. Why is it delayed?

We send Home Trial orders one at a time. If you are already trying a rod with an existing Home Trial, we’ll ship your new Home Trial once we receive your current order.
